The new Sant'Anna - IUSS PhD Programme in Economics has the ambition to become a leading centre of PhD training in Europe. The programme will provide a solid training across most domains of economic analysis. In particular, the programme comprises evolutionary perspectives on economic change, computational economics, economic networks, experimental economics, etc.. The training programme also covers areas usually neglected in traditional PhD courses such as economic history, history of economic thought, neuroeconomics, and quantitative tools for the study of dynamical systems. We aim to provide our students with the profile of a complete social scientist endowed with a sound technical background (especially quantitative), combined with the ability to interpret economic and social phenomena from different analytical perspectives.
